JCIA holds business study workshops withthe aim of taking advantage of the information provided by the workshop andwould like executives and regular employees of the member societies to have betterunderstanding of the domestic and international themes, in which the membersocieties are highly interested and which are likely to have an impact on theircooperative insurance operations.

Mr. Miwa gave a lecture onIFRS "Insurance Contracts" commenting on the matterin detail item by item, future schedules, the recent trend, the summary of the proposal for the ExposureDraft in 2013(2013 ED), the organizationof the discussion about CSM (contract service margin), the summary of thedeliberation for the 2013 ED, and the recent discussion by the IASB( InternationalAccounting Standards Board).
