JCIA holds business study workshops with the aim of taking advantage of the information provided by the workshop and would like executives and regular employees of the member societies to have better understanding of the domestic and international themes, in which the member societies are highly interested and which are likely to have an impact on their cooperative insurance operations.
The first business study workshop for fiscal 2014 was held as follows,

- Theme: Commentary on new insurance products/services and insurance solicitation rules
- Lecturer: Member of Working Group on the Provision of Insurance Products/Services in the FSA
Hironori Nishikino, Attorney at Law

The "Working Group on the Provision of Insurance Products/Services" of the Financial System Council had published a report on 7th June 2013, having conducted some reviews and deliberations on providing insurance products and services since June 2012.
Based on the content of the report, Mr. Nishikino gave a lecture on the regulations related to insurance solicitation which would be newly introduced due to the revision of the Insurance Business Act.
As many as 106 people participated in the workshop mainly from a wide range of departments of member societies of the JCIA such as a management planning, product department, legal affairs, and promotion department.
